Who Is My Neighbor?
Looking at immigration through the eyes of immigrants and those who welcome them, with Sister Norma Pimentel, Executive Director of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley, moderated by Jackie Aldrette, Managing Director, AVSI USA
Through personal witnesses, the event will focus on the concrete needs of both the immigrants and the communities called to welcome them. Undoubtedly, most migrants leave their land out of hope, looking for a new life. But their presence challenges the country that receives them, calling its citizens to a personal and societal transformation. In the course of its history, the Catholic Church has developed a profound wisdom on this matter that combines charity and realism and can help bring about such a change. Speakers, either through their dramatic witness or because of their long-standing service, will delve into these topics.
