Carla Hendra

Carla Hendra was named founding Chairman, Global Strategy & Innovation at Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide in 2010 and was also appointed to the O&M Worldwide Executive Committee.  From 2005-2010, Carla served as CEO of Ogilvy & Mather North America, becoming Chairman of Ogilvy New York from 2007-2010.  During this period, O&M won significant new business including Stolichnaya Vodka, Medco, Nestle, Fage Yogurt, Kaplan, CDW, United Parcel Service and Citizens Bank.  Carla's Ogilvy career began on the IBM global business in 1996, after which she served as President of OgilvyOne North America from 1998-2005.  She is a Board Director of Brown Shoe Company and served on the Board of Unica Corp. until its 2010 acquisition by IBM.

As a driver of digital, data, and technology innovation during her 15 year Ogilvy tenure, Carla led OgilvyInteractive N.A. from 1998 - 2005, founded OgilvyOne's Consulting unit in 1999, started up the Digital Innovation Group in 2002, and launched VERGE, Ogilvy's global digital summit series, in 2004.  As a brand marketer with depth in digital and emerging technology, Carla speaks frequently at industry conferences including foursquare, adTech, the Conversational Marketing Summit, NATPE, the IAB's MIXX conference, and Web 2.0.

Carla was invited to participate in the Rockefeller Fellowship in 2006, organized by the New York City Partnership to drive public/private collaboration on behalf of New York.  She has long-standing involvement with several non-profit organizations focused on women, children and education.  Carla designed a unique partnership between Ogilvy and PS 123 through PENCIL, the Ogilvy Young Marketers Program, which has run successfully for 8 years.  In 2009, the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of NY selected Carla to receive their Angel Award for service to women and children.  Carla has also been a Board Director of Dress for Success since 2007.
